New Visitor Protocol

—Revised Visitation Policy—
EFFECTIVE MARCH 24, 2020

Dear Care Center Patients and Family Members,

As the number of confirmed cases of Coronovirus, COVID-19, continue to rise in Michigan and across the nation, Angela Hospice has had to make very difficult decisions regarding best practices and protocols during this unprecedented health crisis. Because Angela Hospice cares for seriously ill and vulnerable patients, not only in our Care Center but also throughout metro Detroit and southeast Michigan, we never want to risk exposing our patients, their families, our team members, or others in our community to a situation where their health could be compromised or endangered.

Based on Governor Whitmer's Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive order and the guidelines and directives we have received from federal and state government agencies, we have had to make an additional revision to our visitation policy for the Care Center. Know that these decisions restricting visitation are not made lightly and are in sharp contrast to our normal visiting protocols. We are sorry to have to take these additional steps and do understand how difficult this is for each of you.

We will continue to monitor the health crisis and make adjustments as required.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you, your family and our entire community during this very stressful time. Please be safe.

Peace and May God bless all of us,

  • Patients will be limited to one visitor per 24 hour period.
  • Daily, the patient visitor must check in at concierge for screening anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and is required to stay in the building for duration of visit. Exiting the building will be considered end of visit time for that 24 hour period. As long as visitor does not leave the building during that 24 hour period they may stay 24 hours in patient room. Visitor food trays will be available as requested.
  • Visitor screening/check in will be limited to 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 7 days a week.

  • Two patient visitors, in total, will be allowed entry upon patient passing—24 hours a day. After 9-5 check in hours, the nurse on duty will complete the visitor screening.
